shorter leader if its hotter, since they will be down further, most of the time anyway. and as far as the time of day we went. we never went real early in the morning. usually around 4pm ish. and sometimes earlier. and right at dusk seems to be good as well!
if you go out there again, let me know if this helped. hope it does. hope you catch more, we would usually limit out within an hour, or only get 1 or 2 fish, its either super good, or really crappy.

We use 2 orange power eggs, they arent like power bait, they are more rubbery, but still have the awesome smell of powerbait, and then sometimes we use a marshmellow (the anise white ones) with a couple salmon eggs. Ive used even a small kastmaster out there.
the set up we use, is a sliding sinker, with a barrel swivel, and then about a half ounce or so egg sinker, then depending on the day we will use a 3' leader to a 1 1/2 foot leader. longer leader if its colder.
