Cockroach you should relize you are alone in your desire, steam is making a comeback, and people are waking up to the fact that if we destroy our history then there will be nothing left for us to remember where we came from and those who loose their roots have no future.

@Cockroach2008, while I respect your opinions, I believe that steam locomotives like this one have much greater value historically than the financial sum of its component parts melted down for scrap. Trains and railroads were an integral part of what helped the United States expand, and even today, trains carry more passengers and freight than cars or trucks. Also, because this locomotive is in a national park, I think trying to junk it would be defacement of government property.

Cockroach2008 if you must insist getting rid of the monuments to industry and progress that we here love, go chop down the Eiffel Tower or the Statue of liberty and scrap those as well (sarcasm) those are made of metal too.
