  • im a muslim and hate AL-QAIDA and what they stand for. THEY DONT STAND FOR ISLAM..

  • We are not employing "insurgents" The Al-Sahue (Awakening) are former insurgents and they are better than the formal Iraqi Security Forces. They have killed and pushed out Al-Qaeda in the previous havens. And yes it was incredibly stupid to disband the Iraqi Army. Now we have to rebuild them from zero. But I think you are falling into the same simplistic reasoning as NeoCons and fundamentalists. Things are much more complicated than Chirstians vs Muslims. vc e brasileiro? Eh Musulmao?

  • I feel we're arguing causality. I believe a statement as the one Logical602 made wouldn't be made because someone was liberal, but because they were an idiot, as I'm sure you'd agree since you seem very reasonable.

I just think there are smart people in every group, and those kinds of statements drive those people away, and they are the kind of people that would actually be willing to talk reasonably.

  • cont.

I guess the point of my intial post was that I was hoping you would acknowledge that the premise of Logical602's comment was warranted because of the simple fact that there are a number of liberals deserving of that stereotype (which you have done so). I intially took issue w/ your comment because of this line," You and I both know no "liberal" would say something that stupid..." This led me to comment giving you examples of liberals who were saying something just," that stupid."

  • Like I said in the final sentence of my initial post, I realize not all liberals act like that. So accusing me of generalization is not only wrong, but unwarranted.

I also realize that there are stupid people on all sides. Finally, I do agree w/ your point that only through acknowledgement of these differences can we move forward. However, that is easier said than done. Especially when you consider most don't wish to cooperate w/ people of opposing views.
