One and a half laps. I had a blast! This was my first time on a road course. I detuned the truck to about a "high 12 second" performance level because I was running stock brakes (which I severely melted and have since upgraded).

The driving here isn't my best because I usually take it easy to warm up for the first half lap, but I only had one opportunity to get a sweet chase-cam like this!

The stock 700-R4 transmission and air to water intercooler did a great job, despite running a total of 200 miles of racing over the weekend! It runs rich (smoke on straights) because I ran a homemade Xylene mix for high octane that day.

  • what was your top speed on the track?

  • About 120 MPH in 2004, and when I went back in 2006, maybe 125 tops.

  • how'd it handle?

were you running OEM suspension, or did you tune it for the circuit?

  • It handled really well, at least in my opinion (my passengers agreed). It was 100% OEM suspension. With the AWD, I could just apply power near the apex and drift to the outside rumble strip without worrying about the back end kicking out. It felt very stable and sure footed. On the road course, it's no "Corvette" but that didn't prevent me from having a hell of a lot of fun pushing it through the corners!

  • Nice truck! I have some questions since i wanna start using 15-30% xylene race gas mix on my Vw 1.8T engine:

1.- Are the injectors damaged or affected by the Xylene?

2.- Would the turbo's propeller be affected by the xylene exhaust gases?

3.- Do you need to mix the xylene with anything (like transmission fluid or such) before mixing it with the gas??

    Thanks a lot!

  • cool. now it's time for some adjustable shocks, variable rate springs, tubular A arms, and so on.

  • nice truck, rich is good :)
