A video review of the classic Casio CZ-101, a mini-key digital synthesizer from 1985.
In this four-part video, I describe the features of the Casio CZ-101, present examples from its sounds, and show a few techniques to program new sounds on it.
Hey, it was getting really good between 6:05-6:15. It started to almost articulate vocal-like formants or syllables. And then you made a cut to a supposedly more appropriate elctronica sound just at the moment when I started to like when you almost made the synthesizer speak. Oh well, fantastic demo, anyway.
how did you do the sound at 08:16

"We're really going to go crazy with the vibrato... We'll...not that crazy." =D Great demo, making me want a CZ-101/1000 now. =O

2 detuned sawtooth oscillators acts better as a "typical" techno lead. Same octave, but with a detune value of 10-15 :)

do you have any videos of your own compositions? I really like the way you play.

What a synth! This VCF Emulation sounds much better than my Korg DS-8 with its "Timbre" parameter.
