@TheFernandobbin Yes, because neither of the Hobbits were affected enough. They were only at the BORDER of Mordor. Sam would've been corrupted.

This one girl always used to tell me that gollum was a very cute creature and that she would love to take him home for a pet. When I finally got around to watching the films and saw him I realized why she rode the short bus with me.

This is truly one of the most incredible scenes in cinematographic history. The expression Sam has when he sees Frodo snap the ring of the chain gives me chills. The music is absolutely perfect. Gollum's expression is unbelievable.
Tolkien was a true genius, and the people that adapted his work to film truly created a masterful work of art.
