the beach tree or silver birch are good for drinking in this manner. note that you can also drill or tap these trees in the early part of the year to get sap water. beach are good for the nuts and leaves, and birch is good for kindling the bark, pith bark and small twigs are good for brushing your teeth/ well done ray, much better than that idiot bear.

So... seeing as the eucalyptus bush is pretty rare in the rest of the world, how do you determine which plants will release the poisonous alkaloids and which wont?
Is it a case of some plants you should be aware of that will do it or is it a case of having to know the few plants that wont?
Also, does this problem arise with a solar still using plant materials?
