More than 90 percent of University of Iowa students choose to live in University Housing during their first year at Iowa. In this video, current students describe each hall open to first-year students enrolling for fall 2012: those in the East Campus neighborhood, West Campus neighborhood, and in the Suites & Apartments neighborhood. All University residence halls are co-ed and served by the University's free Cambus transit system.
The East Campus Neighborhood includes Burge, Currier, Daum, and Stanley residence halls, all served by the Burge Market Place dining room. This is a great option for students who want to be close to classes and the shops in downtown Iowa City.

The West Campus Neighborhood includes Hillcrest, Quadrangle, Rienow, and Slater residence halls, all served by the Hillcrest Market Place dining room. This location, which is just a few blocks from Kinnick Stadium and University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, is a great option for students interested in athletics and the health sciences.

The Suites & Apartments neighborhood includes Mayflower and Parklawn residence halls, each featuring rooms that include small kitchens and bathrooms. These halls are great options for students who love to cook or who want a more apartment-like residence.
