Ironic it happen in Halifax. A tragedy of this scale. 5 years earlier they attended the rescued bodies of those who died on Titanic. Most of those 3rd class that weren't claimed, the city adopted & buried them, give them an end to their trip to the New World. 5 years later they were doing the same but on unimaginable scale.
I have no knowledge of what this was about, sorry, but it was another youtube 'recommended video' coz I watched some Irish themed video. But I'm glad I sat through it.I just love listening to our older citizens recalling the past. This lady seemed very lucid & eloquent,& whilst she was recalling a tragic event in Canadian history,it was a pleasure to listen to her! We really have to value our 'living archivists'.

@TeamRedz im reading irish chain and it is unbelivably sad, but i think it is a really good book, i think that everyone should read it to see what all those poor people went through
i just read Irish Chain and omfg, i cant believe this is based on a true story !! Read the book, i hate reading books but after reading that, i loved them
I would like to know more.... trying to write a screenplay of this event. This is by far the most honest account of what happen that day. Very visceral... would love to hear the last shot & cheer at the pub in Dartmouth. Were there any soldiers that came back after the war to find the catastrophe?
Amazing. She can pass on a lot of wisdom staying calm in the face of danger that seems lacking these days. It's things like this that my generation should watch.
