GM blocked it as they were developing their own small deisel engine when they agreed to sell this truck as the Canyon/Colorado. For some reason they never imported the Isuzu motor when GM subsiquently shelved the small deisel project. I have the 3.5L gas Canyon and would kill for a Dmax!
damn,. you're so smart. very ironic response to my comment. well, what i meant was that if you're goin to get a truck, well better get the BEST light truck out there and this is not it. .
The Thai-version, the Australian- and Euro-versions 3-litre DMax.... incidentally, it will also be issued in the Philippines soon, is the one that got the 4JJ1-TCX engine (with VVGS). This DDi-iTEQ variant makes a peak power of 164 ps and a peak torque of 360 Nm from 1800 rpm to 2800 rpm. The DMax is always known to be a simple type of truck. If you are looking for a hardworking truck with less frills with a responsive- and fuel-efficient engine then this is your choice.
That is because the one that is issued in Asia (except in Thailand) is a 4JJ1-TC DDi-iTEQ variant. This one is not equipped with VVGS (variable-valve geometry turbo). It produces a peak of 146 ps and a very wide peak torque of 294 Nm frm 1400 rpm to 3400 rpm. It just makes the right amount of power vis-a-vis torque where and when you need it.
ive got the 2011 model and it uses 10.4L per 100km
