  • Lone Survivor was an awesome book, i read it twice. Mike Murphy was from my area here in Long Island and im currently in the process of getting a contract to get into SEAL training. Training under the same guy that help Mike Murphy.

I only hope the move is as good as the book.

  • I'm 16 and had read Mr. Lutrell's book and have to say it is amazing. This book motivated me to do more for my country. Ever sense I was 14 I had a desire to want to become a navy SEAL. I thought it was a desire that would one day go away, but it never has. I feel like God doesn't want me to let it go. God bless our troops.

  • 5k jumps..... holy shit.................

  • i didn't have the money to purchase the book but everyday after work i was at borders reading it. it brought out the best of courage in men and made me feel like a pussy being a medic in iraq, OIF1

  • Hey marcus I know Don Shipley. Stropparo. If you need anything at all let him know. Anywhere, anytime ,anything.

You are my hero and my families hero as well.

  • i could not put it down either. that was the fastest i have ever read a book

  • I do not know about a book. I have my Wings but I must say that I was very scared on my first jump, and my 2nd, etc.

I did spend a year or so as an Infrantry Officer with the 101st in Vietnam. A bullet into your body can really hurt.

  • So far I've read 100 pages in 3 short nights and I can already tell from the first 50 pages or so it would be the best book I've ever read in my life period.

  • I just finished his book last night - what a nail biter!!!! I had to keep my husband posted on the every part of the story as I read. His story reminds me that so many are fighting the fight every day while we live in comfort and safety.

    Much gratitude,

    Kelly

  • hes a true hero!!!!Pakistan has nothing on this texan!!!!!!

  • Films are never as good as a book, a book is so thrilling you can almost imagine yourself being there, and you get a bond with the author and i found it rather upsetting as marcusses comrades died one by one. I read blackhawk down before the film and it also was thrilling, but i look forward to a film about "Operation Redwing"

Also read "Roberts Ridge" by Malcom MacPherson about navy sean neil roberts.

That would make an excelent film.
