Stephen Harper is able to enjoy himself at the National arts Center singing the popular 1960's band The Beatles popular song "With a Little Help from My Friends". Meanwhile, 131 Canadian soldiers have died so far in the war in Afghanistan. Harper and the Conservatives with some compromises with the Liberals were able to extend the Afghanistan mission until December 2011 in March.

UPDATE: FACTS ABOUT THE WAR IN AFGHANISTAN .... INCLUDING DEFENSE MINISTER PETER MCKAY CONSIDERING EXTENDING STAY IN AFGHANISTAN!
READ THE ANNOTATION AT THE END.

annotation:
Although Stephen Harper wasn't the Prime Minister when the Afghanistan war started (it was John Chretien), Stephen Harper has greatly increased our presence there for the worst...... He bought 100 military tanks in 2007 from the Netherlands. The estimated cost of the Afghanistan mission itself had risen by 1 billion dollars in the fiscal year of 2007-2008. Afghanistan is also along with Iraq seeming to become more like vietnam. As forces have been there for 8 years so far (and it will be a full 10 years for canadian troops when they pull out)
the taliban still remains strong. It seems as though we are fighting to bring peace, as most historians will tell you that doesn't work well most of the time. New reports also say that defense minister Peter Mckay is thinking about extending the Afghanistan mission past 2011! Meanwhile while all of this is occuring Harper is singing in front of a crowd scoring political points by wowing others with his vocals! Give me a break!

  • The encore is definitely deserved by our soldiers!

  • Stupid leftist drivel. Anyone with a modicum of intelligence understands that Harper has been a huge supporter of the military, both publicly and financially. Nice try, you taliban-loving fucktards.

  • Pussy Leftists cannot stand it that Canada as turned its back on the liberal party for good. The NDP are irrelevant and les grenouilles are welcome to them-time to jettison that traitor's nest.

  • Go fuck yourself leftist pig. You'll make a good little dimmi-fuck off and die

  • I also think it's sad and funny when liberals say that Canada never sent troops to 'Nam. They did, in fact. Not a lot, but they did send them. lolliberals.

  • @viper10011 No doubt about that. Now, let's imagine a world with liberals....: )

  • when the lefties were in control our troops were getting smoked right left and center..a blind man 3000ft away could have sniped one of our soldiers. they also supplied them with the shittiest equipment available. Our soldiers have to part with their home, friends and family to risk their lives for OUR safety. If you don't stand behind our troops, you are more than welcome to stand in front of them!

  • liberals are a disease.

  • @durhamy HELL YA!!!!!!!!

  • @PrairieCanadian What a trenchant argument. This is the level of a HarperCon minion, 4th grade name-calling. Harper sucks, and everyone on earth is "left" of him and his asinine policies.

  • @alaparproductions If you don't know what you're talking about then don't say it.

How exactly can Harper take any credit for the state of the economy? Canada's economy was saved from the ravages of the 2008 economic meltdown due to sensible regulations on our financial sector, something Harper OPPOSED before he became PM. The effects of his stimulus package were negligible and his corporate tax cuts are a terrible idea.

  • If Harper is unfit to be Prime Minister, I wonder why the economy is making significant, albeit gradual, gains. Furthermore, the people of Canada have granted him a majority mandate, and therefore, he is democratically fit to govern.

On that note, I would like to point out that if Stephen Harper stood for "nothing democratic" then there would not have been an election a mere month ago. If you have nothing of importance to say, than do not say it.
