  • When in Boy Scouts we had to swim so many laps or lengths of a pool fully clothed, as part of water safety and lifeguard training. Makes a very strong swimmer. Most drownings occur with fully clothed victims trying to swim because they never intended on getting wet or being in the water at all. I still like to do my lap swimming fully clothed wearing a hat and if in a lake will wear shoes as well and sometimes a jacket. Clothes do make great floatation if get them full of air.

  • I was a lifeguard in scouts as a kid and I did this as part of my training, it is very hard, we had to simulate falling through thin ice, this can be a lifesaving situation especially in the cold northern climates where people die every winter from falling through thin ice. I still like to swim laps while wearing jeans a heavy shirt and a hat, just because it is a great workout and compares to weight training for whole body at once, and also makes for a very strong swimmer.

  • This should be mandatory thing.

  • i dont see why is good this? with winter clothes swim? forcing the kids body?

  • Very good safety training!

  • I just signed up my young daughters for ISR swim lessons-you need to find out about this, fellow parents!! Traditional swimming lessons don't work!
