  • ....close.....but nope, the Miner's welfare was the shoddy old building that had run into disrepair next door to the welfare hall...and the Christie is in the hall and has just thankfully been powered up for the first time in 3 months since power to the hall was cut off!!!!

  • Hi! Brilliant playing. Is it an illusion of the video but aren't those keys on the manuals foreshortened, less deep from front to back than normal organ manuals?

  • hey, cheers....and nope they just normal keys on all 3 manuals...the solo is from a different console to the great and accomp it is also angled slightly thats why it is brighter in colour

  • gudge8 i don't know how we could arrange this but i've been looking for the organ score everywhere and found only the piano score of course missing the pedal part. Could you send me a copy of your music be email? Thanks in advance

    William

  • Sorry mate I cant offer you much help on that one because I myself only have the piano score in a book full of similar pieces and I have just made it up as i've gone along as well as listening to other organists (mainly the late Reg. Dixon) All you need to do is mess around with the notes in each chord pattern in each bar to get your 'Pedal' notes, I dont tend to play exactly the same every time I like to mess about with different notes!!

  • Oh... that was utter bliss!

  • @gudge8 Don't stress yourself with him dear. I know it was a while ago now but I still remember it like it was yesterday. He'd just blown his first butt-bubble after sucking up nearly a pint of fairy liquid in rehearsal but failed miserably to do it for the camera. Instead he created a three-dimensional fart with pops and rattles but no bubbles and completely pebble-dashed half the living room then left in a right stink. Quite literally! Shame the pictures came out grainy; skidmarks ruin lenses.

  • @TheWilly42

if your good enough, you will work it out yourself. in my opinion the best people are those that play by ear. i play entirely by ear, and cant read a note of music, and have tourght myself all i know (so far) and there are many people out there same as me, so its possable.

  • Great playing!!

  • Why are there so many empty stop rails?

  • Nice Job is this the organ grinder in Toronto Canada? Nice sounding theatre Organ any way you play well I guess this is your Job so to speak. Although the organ in Toronto has various instruments around the dinning room, that actually play when a stop is pulled, so I feel this is not the organ or dinner I am thinking of. I love the Glockenspiel. Thanks for posting I enjoyed it.

  • @gudge8 You play 'Blaze Away" just great on the Harworth "Christie" theater organ . I didn't hear any mistakes (wrong notes, etc.) You play magnificent!

  • Hi can I ask where you got the sheet music for this, I understand it is out of print and I would love to get hold of it. Thanks

  • We used to come and listen to the Christie at Harworth for years, since it was first installed and played by Trevor Baily, right up to Simon Gledhill and many others. Now we live in the Rep of Ireland ,and we miss it dearly,by the way ,nice playing thanks.

  • Off to play this in about an hour ! It's my Native Cinema Organ so it should be nice :P Important to the family is this organ, I've not played it (Untill today that is) and both my Grandad and Great Aunty used to play it in the Regal !
