I like this version by Glen, and also by Elvis, Merle Haggard and Anne Murray.

My mother's father died in 1970 and my mother's sister sang this hymn at his funeral, he loved it and I never heard such a beautiful hymn and I still love it.
Glen Campbell did a beautiful job singing it.

MY! Have you no experience with music played and the hymns people who worship their Creator in church sing?! Amazing! "In The Garden" has to be one of the most, the greatest, the most inspiring, the most awesome, the most sweet, the loveliest, the most perfect view into what "Walking with one's Creator is all about!
Sorry, beeptv, I thought you were listening because you are familiar with this awesome, most happy, most exuberant of all spiritual songs ever EVER put to music! More . . .

@claudius2u yes. but its not specificly about gardeners. its about all of gods children. its played as funerals because of that not because the people who died are gardeners.
-
@claudius2u its a sad song. its about god. not planting plants and stuff. thats not the "Garden" it means

Now, to ADD that this beautiful song is ALL about gardening, let's turn to Genesis, chapters 1 through 7, at least. Study WHERE your "god" put Adam and Eve, and WHAT he commanded Adam to do there. Adam was, and all he was, was a GARDENER!
This lovely song IS ALL about THAT garden, and THE garden where every Human Being can still go to, to cultivate and water and nurture relationship with THE Creator.
Got it?
Good!

Oh? Take the word "Garden" out of both the song, and the title, and then tell me "it isn't really about gardening . . ."
Why do people have so little comprehension, these days?
My mother told me, after my father's death, of his love for this beautiful song, she was always an avid gardener, as now I've enjoyed being one. At the time of mother's death, the only time I've dreamed about my dad, I heard him singing a beautiful solo, welcoming Mother Home! His joy will always be in my memory, in that awesome moment of his Living Eternity!
Dad was the gardener for the local grammar school, and loved caring for plants in central California. I wish I'd given him far more!
