Israeli Attack on the Mavi Marmara // Raw Footage

On the night of Sunday, May 30, showing a terrifying disregard for human life, Israeli naval forces surrounded and boarded ships sailing to bring humanitarian aid to the blockaded Gaza Strip. On the largest ship, the Mavi Marmara, Israeli commandos opened fire on civilian passengers, killing at least 9 passengers and wounding dozens more. Others are still missing. The final death toll is yet to be determined. Cultures of Resistance director Iara Lee was aboard the besieged ship and has since returned home safely.

Despite the Israeli government's thorough efforts to confiscate all footage taken during the attack, Iara Lee was able to retain some of her recordings. Above is raw footage from the moments leading up to and during the Israeli commandos' assault on the Mavi Marmara.

I guess you didn't really contemplate "death of your entire family or even just one member"...your logic is out the window when emotions like that are in play. Israel has radicalized a generation of Palestinians by actions like these. I don't know where your from or your background, but did you see them all praying? they are scared and with good reason. The sling shot is more a symbol than a weapon, a symbol of resistance.

@toknowandgrow If for any reason I have to pass thru a road block or any other block, I would stop, evaluate the situation if time is given. If we are unnumbered of it's impossible to go thru without reasonable belief that we wont lose people or material valuable to the accomplishment of your journey, we just turn around and call for support... Then we go... But in the case of a boarding party, if you can't fight, turn around or surrender... You will save many people life....

Whatever you think is right, why would you resist a boarding using sticks and slingshots agains Commandos... Just sit down with your hand visible... You have better change to come back alive or went thru the block if your reason of passing is legitimate.
