@waif55 I really think she looked great at any size. She put on weight in delightful ways, but her claim to fame, figure wise, was that great set of hips (citation: Chinese Theatre comment with Jane Russell).....in any event, I just loved her womanly curves.

@waif55 Me and my sister adore Marilyn. I remember reading about her being pregnant in "Some like it Hot" Even with those curves, she still managed a small frame. Definetly during her last year alive she had gotten thin!

@whitbabe3251 Marilyn's weight fluctuated. She was curvy but basically slender until 1955/56. She was plumper after that--in "Hot" "Let's Make Love" and "Misfits" (she was actually pregnant during "Hot")  But by no means "fat" or "plus size" She refused to wear a girdle, so her womanly belly, hips and backside were always prominent. Her bust was not unusually big--it, too, fluctuated as her weight rose and fell. In her last year, she was actually thin.

I love how people said she was "fat." Not only can you SEE with your own eyes that she was TINY, but she had a 22 inch waist! Okay, my measurements are 34-26-36. Marilyn's waist was so tiny, it made her hips look big. She was small, but she had a big bust. She was smaller than me, but with bigger boobs =( And those measurements are supposed to be considered "Ideal" to woman THESE DAYS.
