  • Thanks for the vid. Is it a loud when it zooms? I m thinking in regard to when you want to use it to shoot video.

  • @tiberiousgracchus Interesting point. I've just take it to the quietest place in my house and zoomed it in and out while videoing. If you put it to your ear when zooming you can just about hear a feathery sort of noise but very, very quiet.

    On the movie (with the mic on level 4 max) viewed in Sony Vegas, the sound of the zoom doesn't rise above the (very low) ambient noise.

    So, for practical purposes, I'd say the zoom was silent.

  • @SweetHubby82 It sure is. See the question above. I actually wanted it as a carry everywhere lens for stills, the size of the 20mm pancake but much more flexible.

    For me, the video silence and smooth zooming is a bonus. If you want it for video, the small size as a carry everywhere still lens is the bonus.

    First bit of innovative lens design we've seen for a long time.
