To make things simple for the user, the rules and membership function associated with the DeltaV fuzzy logic block are pre-defined to address single input-single output (SISO) control applications. The membership function scaling is automatically adjusted using DeltaV Insight to give best closed loop response. By taking this approach (pre-defined rules and membership functions, autotuning support) a customer may apply fuzzy logic in DeltaV with the same ease of use provided for PID in DeltaV.
