@cryjesuscry We were strong long before the Union existed. The states defended us just fine during the Revolutionary War. The creation of a Federal Union was the beginning of the end. You're wrong in assuming that individuals can't take care of themselves and that the states need the feds. The "broken way of health insurance" is indeed that, the cause is what you fail to recognize. The system becomes stronger than the individual when the people expect to be taken care of. All I want is freedom.

Ah yes. the NY Times. How about getting poll from a "news" source tht's a little less biased. Hell, I would choose ANY news source except the NY Times. They parade around the fact that they love Obamacare and Obama as much as they love their damn families. Thta poll is horribly biased. Half the people that took that poll more than likely havn't read the bill (they might have even included Democraps in Congress!)

@gamonman You'll be paying for it by subsidizing the cost of health care for people who can't afford it through your premiums and reduction in the quality of your service under the current broken way of health insurance in this country. You are totally off on your assessment on America, we have in fact prospered by banding together as a nation for everyone to take care of everyone by everyone doing his or her part. The strength of the Union is the real strength of the US, always has been.

Your 65% is based on biased polls. Your need to think about what happens when Superman isn't there to save you, be an adult and provide for yourself. That's what this country was founded on. There are no excuses. Be a man... or Woman up if that be the case. No racism, no bias, and no bullshit! This country is about saying "F-U" to the government and doing it yourself. Stop your bitching, grow a clinking set and do it yourself! There is nowhere else on Earth where you will get the opportunity.

@cryjesuscry Roads, police, schools and libraries are public property, entities and institutions. Your body and health is not my business nor that of the government. If you can't see the difference then perhaps you are on the side of "stupid". You've probably used the same argument to defend abortion. You can't have it both ways. Either your body is your business or it isn't. If you want someone else, like the gov't, to take care of you then you aren't an adult. I don't want to pay your way.

@gamonman what about taxing people to pay for roads, police, schools, libraries, etc etc etc, you are pretty stupid!

@theaceofspades39 ...by mandating that every American pay for a product whether they want it or not. This is the first time in American history the government has done that. And no, it's not comparable to car insurance. The difference is glaringly simple; you can opt out of those other burdens (car insurance or flood insurance) by choosing not to engage in those activities, actions or purchases. But because you breathe and were born in and live in America you must now buy health insurance.

@gamonman how is universal health care unconstitutional?
@davehutchinson67 Is that why Missouri voted to opt out of the unconstitutional Obamacare by 3 to 1 just 25 days ago? ...Stay tuned, more states to follow. I believe Obamacare got 23% of the vote. That's no poll, that's a fact. I won't hold it against you since it probably wasn't even reported to you by the mainstream media. Gotta go, Glenn Beck is on!

"How about we run a Fox news poll?" The difference between a NY Timers poll and a Fox poll is that the NY Times is an actual NEWS outlet.
Americans do want a public option.
