@jdstripes Karpov's best pal, second and trainer throughout the 90s American GM Ron Henley. There are players of all ages and abilities watching, i think he gets it spot on, does a terrific job.

Who is the guy talking to Karpov? His fails to engage Karpov in conversation, instead offering book knowledge of the event. He follows interesting comments not with a question that would draw out more from Karpov, but with a non-sequitur that demonstrates only that he knows the surface history of the event. I presume he has some sort of journalists credentials, but he utterly lacks skill at interviewing. This video displays a squandered opportunity to learn something from a great player: Karpov.

i am trying to get back into chess. I just can't play all the time like some, or I get lost.

the host of this video looks like a knight

@koznfx the label "coward" you give him seems to have sentiment attached to i!! Perhaps you dont like him personally or whatever reason you have! You can call Bobby Fischer anything but a coward and i will teach you why: he was a man who alone by himself beat a soviet chess machine consisiting of team of 20 people. He was by himself and faced them everytime and absolutely annihilated them. Perhaps he got bored or just was mentally unstable but scared and coward?! Find a better choice of words

@30inventionman Need a roomate? ;D

@skewzme1 Obviously you know nothing of Korchnoi, who, among many of his scalps, was Fischer. Korchnoi was a top GM and should of won the match in 78 (even I saw that bishop move, which doomed him). Remember his family was under threat then too...

@godanddevilsucks Or to use the modern vernacular.. Fischer was a 'douche'. He was of course, one of the greatest ever. But you don't win a sport and then decide it is yours forever. You have to defend it. Suppose Spasski had decided he did not have to play Fischer because he was 'already champion' and 'didn't need to prove it'. Would you still be so accepting to such behavior?
Excellent! Always willing to watch videos featuring the '72 Championship. I enjoyed hearing Karpov's thoughts. Thanks for posting, chessdocumentary...
