It's interesting that they showed the strengths and weaknesses of everything but the katana. Makes you wonder sometimes.

They could have, but If they did conduct those tests, it would completely destroy the blade, and trust me, Japanese Katanas ARE NOWHERE NEAR easy to make. A well crafted blade could take months or even years just to forge, without adding the blade lines and hilt onto it. Then, there's the scabbard, or sheath, which takes a few months to make using hardened wood or bamboo. All that detail is the reason why Katanas cost so much.
