@wolfman98 , Yes. I like Laird. I talked to him this year at TigerFest 2010 for about 5 mins. He is a good defensive catcher. I think he should spend more of his off season learning to be a better batter. Anything that improves his offense would be good. I think he should work at hitting like Polanco does. Texas Bloopers.

I talked to Gerald Laird yesterday at Tiger Fest. He was glad to be in Detroit. He was impressed with the Fan turnout. I am from Texas but live in Michigan now. I went to 30 Tiger games and 4 Ranger games in 08. I have a Ranger ten pack tickets for 09 and renewed my Tigers partial season tickets. Since we no longer have Pudge for catcher, I am glad we got Gerald Laird. I think he did a good job at the Rangers.

The Detroit Free Press reports that the Tigers and Rangers are moving closer to a deal that would send Gerald Laird to Detroit.
The Rangers reportedly would get pitching prospect Guillermo Moscoso, a talented righty with middle-of-the-rotation potential. If the Rangers do trade Laird, it wouldn't necessarily take Jarrod Saltalamacchia off the table. However, the youngster would become that much more difficult for the Red Sox or another team to pry away.
