Our fishermen do it better, Visayan style: They use Coke bottles (the old glass ones, still popular here in the Philippines) filled with TNT and chuck 'em into the water with a lit fuse on it. Detonation underwater is made possible by using waterproof fuse and salvaged .223 cartridges (powder intact, sealed).
