I would rather spend a little more and Buy American and keep that money here as the multiplier effect means more business, more taxes, more workers paying taxes and buying stuff in the local community equals more revenue! Everyone here benefits! That is what isn't being taught in business 101!!! What is being taught in business 101 is how to maximize profits short term instead of long term growth and stability! This is not rocket science and yes economists have studied it like Bruce Bartlett

At the same token no private sector employer could comprehend the difficulty of running a city and keeping the people in your city safe, answer 911 calls and make your city an attractive place to do business! Bernero is one of the best mayors in this country and the results of his leadership back that statement up! Lansing, is ranked by Kiplingers and other indy publications as one of the best places to start a business or raise a family! He is doing the best job he can given the circumstances

What does private sector experience have to do with anything? Running a city is a lot harder than running a business and he has to deal with problems and issues no private sector employer would ever have to deal with! Lets get real!

I and others can't help dumb asses! The fact remains we have some stupid people in this world and unfortunately we can't protect them all! However why should everyone else be punished for their stupidity? Should we outlaw beer and liquor because some people might have a drinking problem? What happened to individual responsibility? I see the casino as a business that gives people good paying jobs! Should we ban stores because some people having shopping problems? Where do you draw the line?

I think he is spot on, everyone would benefit from employers to customers and that's what counts the most.

I understand that the casinos are great employers. the only problem I have with them is that some people are gambling addicts and that hurts families. I realize there is help for them if they want it. Also I guess I've seen too many casino movies to that give the impression that there are very bad people involved in the industry

Buy Local & Buy American would stimulate the economy city by city, by the people for the people. Support home-grown businesses and community banks vs. big businesses, as much as practically possible. Home-grown innovation and production equals local jobs. Bring prosperity back to our cities.
