The Protect IP Act (PIPA) and the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) are bills in the US Congress that want to censor the internet and place harmful, restrictive regulations on businesses. If these bills pass, your freedom of speech will be restricted.

You hurt everyone on the internet, anyone who's ever watched a Let's Play, anyone who was introduced to their favourite band by listening to them on Youtube, anyone who watches cartoon ponies learn valuable lessons about friendship.

SAMPLE LETTER TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVE:

I am writing you today as a concerned voter in your district. I would like to ask you to oppose the Protect IP Act and the Stop Internet Piracy Act bills.
The bills are dangerous, ineffective, and short-sighted. The "cure" they offer is far worse than the disease. If we censor the internet, we are no better than the restrictive communistic governments America has stood against.
The internet should remain free and open. To do otherwise would to violate our Right to Free Speech.

Again, please oppose the Protect IP Act and the Stop Internet Piracy Act bills.
