Noam Chomsky discusses the ideological
war waged by the Reagan administration against the American people,
particularly within the framework of the situations in El Salvador and
Nicaragua. He also evaluates the complicity of the mass media in these
efforts. Chomsky maintains that because of widespread opposition to its
policies, the Reagan administration regarded the US population as enemy
territory, and had to resort to covert operations domestically and
internationally to accomplish its goals.

  • Is Chomsky the world's greatest person or what?

I know of Norman Borlaug and Vasiliy Arkhipov, Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein. Well, trying to compare them with each other is silly of course. Somehow I still identify with Chomsky and would nominate him for world's greatest person.

  • It's a shame this only has 3,000 views.

  • Liberal! Commi! Pinko! Pinkocommi! Just kidding, Chomksy rocks.

  • This clip is from Alternative View a community television show from the 1980's. They had a lot of great guests. We have several of their clips. Lot of CIA stuff.

  • I nominate Socrates and Kurt Vonnegut.

Honorable mentions for Louis Armstrong and Don Rickles.

  • youtube user chomskyan knows him and has arranged for several people on youtube to interview him.

  • Yes, me too.

  • I've done it several times. He always writes back.

  • Chomsky is admirable in many ways, not least of which is his disciplined approach to tirelessly calling out the abuses of the powerful. He's also very smart, well-informed and approachable. I've heard first hand from normal people who write to him and recieve thoughtful replies.
