Why is it OK to stick pieces of metal through children's ears without their consent all in the name of being cute?

Children don't give consent to circumcisions, breast milk/bottle feeding, shots, surgeries, heck, anything. At least if they want to take the earrings out they can, where as a circumcision is irreversible.

How would a shot or surgery be any less "traumatic" to a child than piercing ears? Shit, many kids cry like crazy from getting hair cuts.

Piercing ears hurts momentarily. Far less traumatic than spanking a child on a regular basis.

I was asked at the age of 5 if I wanted my ears pierced and I consented to it. yes it was painful at first but the pain quickly goes away! It is all worth it to wear a beautiful pair of earrings!

I dont think it hurts that bad babies cry over every little things, wrong positions for example. But because its not necassery to the child and can be done later on I dont like it being done so young. child are also really active so I'm afraid the earings might stick to something.

I think the proper agegroup to get piecings is teenagers. If you set the age to 18 you are forbitting them from the teenhoods manners and ways of acting their way of socialicing.

I have never wanted earings myself.
