http://www.SocialWorkersSpeak.org - Baltimore City Public Schools social worker Brenda Wade, MSW was concerned about the depiction of social workers in the film "Precious, and took action. She wrote to director Lee Daniels and to her surprise, he called her to discuss her letter. http://www.SocialWorkersSpeak.org talked to Wade about her conversation with Daniels and her thoughts on Mariah Carey's social worker character.

After seeing the movie, 'Precious'...Ms. Wade is correct in her assessment of the social work protrayal. Mariah Carey's 'social worker' was on dimensional, as she says. From my experience in social work (30+ years) Ms. Carey's protrayal was inaccurate...not like the social workers with whom I work every day. Disappointing!
