  • Retail business open to non-Chinese is limited and mostly found only in the biggest cities (Beijing, Shanghai). Because the Yuan is not really a fully convertible monetary unit the foreign exchange market is limited and problematic.

  • Bonds or stocks depending on your appetite for risk. Chinese stocks are mostly still treated as trading stocks although I think the top conglomerates with high market cap could be considered hold stocks. If the US economy continues down the dollar is expected to stabilize and appreciate particularly against the Yuan.

  • How would i convert my dollars to chinese currency/money market savings?

  • Thanks for the update, very valuable if i knew what to do with it? Farrakhan says the us is in trouble [economically?]- what is the alternative savings to to u.s. savings accounts. With Iran and Recession, and the dollar having already lost value, where are smart investors putting their doe?
