Lafittefishing.com this is a video shot by Capt. Scott Poche while fishing a charter trip in the Gulf of Mexico Sept.2nd 2009.
These Redfish were schooling right off the coast just south of Lafitte,LA. The Redfish were on the surface for over 2 hours. We caught and released over 30 Redfish to fight another day.
This is New Orleans Fishing At Its Finest!

help pls...i wade in the bay here in florida..the waters warm and really murky..theres grass beds everywhere..pinfish, crab and oysters are around here..what lures do you reccomend..ive had ok luck with spoons..thats it though..ive tried everything from top water to spinner bait but nothing...there are some mogans out there just i dont no what to use..pls tell me how to/ what to use...thanks

@sportsman949 this is true good rule but most of the small ones are kept there due to the bigger they are the worst the meat will taste the 16 to 20 inch range is the most commonly kept reds there

In Louisiana the limit sizes for Redfish are 16" to 27" and it is 5 redfish per person, one can be over 27" with NO maximum size.

Someone said they thought all these Redfish were females. Thats not the truth either, We caught males and females that day, and released them all. The males make a drumming sound with their stomach, and more than half of what we caught that day were drumming.

In Louisiana you are allowed 5 redfish a day for a limit, only one per person being over 27" . we normally do not keep Redfish over 30" or so inches, they are hard to clean and those fish or your breeding stock. We normally throw them back to spawn another day. It is not a state law saying we can not keep them, we just use our better judgement.
If a client wants to keep one for a trophy, we will take it for his daily creel. And He has caught his Bullred for the day.
