Reid: GOP Should Stop Rooting for Economy to Fail, Start Creating Jobs

At a time where 14 million Americans are out of work, the top priority of Congress should be job creation. But as Senator Harry Reid laments, "it seems the number one priority of Republicans is to defeat President Obama" and "to keep the economy weak as long as possible."

How come the GOP won't support the tax cuts that they have pushed for years, tax cuts create jobs, remember? And tax cuts pay for themselves. The GOP's exact words - you shouldn't have to pay for tax cuts.. They know they were full of shit. And the reason why they won't support the tax cuts is because they don't want cuts to things that serve their interest to pay for them. @lfinndrums What do you mean Obama did nothing? Obama passed a bunch of small Biz bills, housing programs, the stimulus etc. What do you want him to do? You can't just turn it off. It's to big. The outsourcing has caught up with us. I hope the GOP take power, then you're going to see. And I don't care what the bureau of labor statistics say, what did Obama do to lose these jobs? Almost all were lost in his first 4 months. And the stimulus stopped the job loss, and put back over 2 million jobs.

From the GOP's pushing, oil rigs quadrupled under Obama, and U.S. oil output is at a decade high with millions unemployed. Where's the lower gas prices? Where's the lower unemployment? And you've got thousands of gas-fracking jobs open right now, what's it doing for the economy? It's turning half the country into a toxic wasteland, for one. The GOP have nothing. They're gonna fix it all for free, right?

But when it comes to creating the jobs needed for a full recovery, Obama's faults r the same as the GOP's, protect the multi-nationals profits. Protect the Chinese cash-cow. And it's not Obama that's bankrupting us, it's both sides. The GOP's PNAC welfare warfare prog. was under 300 bill a year in 2001. Now it's 1+ trillion a year.

I'm sure McCain would've clicked his magical switch & stopped the loss of 700,000 jobs a month & mass foreclosure on his 1st day in office. Bush's economy cut Obama's tax revenue to the Govt. by over 600 billion a year, leaving him borrowing out the ass to pay the bills.

@HemiHead66 I'm amazed at how the dems and the media have brainwashed everyone. Since Obama took office the U.S. has lost 4 million jobs. The debt has grown more than in ALL other presidents term combined,(4.2 trillion). Food stamps,way up, foreclosures way up, and on and on. Ford took NO fed bailout and is kicking GM and Chrysler's butts,(and they have not paid back the money). And..the dems had a super majority for two years and did NOTHING to fix anything. @lfinndrums Well, you can always go back to losing 700,000 jobs a month, like when Obama took over. And we could do things the GOP way and fire close to 2 million auto workers. And the AUTO industry paid back their loans. So did the banks, with no help from the GOP. The reason why the unemployment rate is stuck is cuz jobs aren't being created fast enough to accommodate new people entering the workforce. That doesn't mean jobs aren't being created. What have the GOP done? Nothing!
