The little ones are now 6-7 weeks old and are getting braver.

  • Wow! congratulation! can you make a video about your tank with your adults Pangio Kuhlii?

  • @schneizquadrat ; Thanks! I'll see what I can do, might take a few weeks though. Still have no idea how many they are, have sold quite a few but somehow they seem to be just as many as before...

  • You are really hurting them... they need sand not rocks. Learn their habits and then buy them.

  • I know a great deal about kuhliis, and I am aware that sand is generally considered the best substrate for them. However the main thing is that the gravel has rounded edges, and if they were not happy with the way they live, I doubt that they would have bred.

  • How do you breed them?

  • They bred spontaneously in their normal tank while I was on holiday, so I was just lucky!

  • Kuhliis are beautiful fishes!

I have one that's about 5 years old (turning 6 this year). I didn't know shit about them when i bought him/her but he's doing fine. Usually disappears for months on end and then appears healthy as ever one day, pretty weird ;)

He lives with 2 ciklids atm. But I'm seriously thinking about getting a 20L aquarium just for him/her that's fitted for his/her fashion :)

  • They are amazing and incredible fish! I love them. Could you tell me how do you feed your kuhlii? Do you have other fishes in the tank? Congratulations!

  • Very nice choice of plants and substrate.

  • Damn, just noticed the reply below about their spawning while you were away.

  • I agree with the two replies here. While this wouldn't be my first choice for a Kuhli substrate, the mere fact that they spawned is an indication that these exceptionally hard-to-breed fish are doing well. Now that I think about it.... how did you spawn them? Kuhli porn? :-)

  • I live in NC too. I bought mine years ago at Warehouse For Pets. Most local pet stores can order them for you as well

  • Any ideas where to purchase them on-line or elsewhere? I've not been able to find them for sale, having lived in both FL and now NC...

  • Yeah you are very lucky because there is no way of telling if they are male or female without disecting them
