First light of the new year: New Year's sunrise in Lubec, ME

A compilation of three time lapse videos and 11 photos of the sun rising off the coast of Lubec, Maine by the West Quoddy Head Lighthouse. West Quoddy Head is the easternmost point in the entire country and is the very first place to see the sunrise each morning before any other spot in the USA. This was taken on the morning of January 1st, 2008, and is thus the very first light (in America) of the new year.

Wow, this is really amazing I loved your video!! I've done something similar in my city. I took a picture every minute of the sky while I was waiting for the 1st sunrise in 2008. It's really a great thing. Happy new year :)
