  • wow what a lesson,.do yourselves a favour listen to freddie king and go from there.no pedals or effects necessary.freddie also used his thumb an fingers to pick with.that makes a big difference tone wise.

  • B and E strings are slighty out of tune.... annoying...

Listen to Freddie King s version, Clapton is lame compared to Freddie!!!

  • don't forget to send your little pinkie finger to market!

  • you can get a killer blues sound from just a small touch of phase, and small touch of delay, with about half on reverb. not to mention a very small touch of over drive.

this will give you a very Texas blues sound. this works well with my pearly gates pickups. you don't want the phase or delay to hardly be there. in fact the over drive should be very little too. the reverb I set almost half. about 4 or a little bit higher. I hope this helps you out a bit.

  • Ibanez Tube Screamer. I like the TS 9dx Turbo cause of it's versatility, but the TS-808 is the Holy Grail of tube screamers.

  • Great lesson....thanks!!!!

Would you be willing to give some insight as to what type of pedal you are using to get that "From the cradle" sound"?

I'm in the market to buy a pedal, but everything that I have heard (so far) has the "SRV" tone, and that's what I don't want.

    Keep up the great work,

    James

  • Good Lesson!! Love this blues sound.
