*~CH~* Pin-Up Girl- Valentine
by Claire Harford (second life resident)

This is not meant to be a "tutorial" with step-by-step instructions on how to go about replicating the design. It's more like a showcase of just how much work and fiddling goes in to designs. I am a big fan of time lapse videos so I thought I'd capture one of my own creations taking shape.

This outfit was made over the course of a day and took roughly eight hours to complete.

Tools used:
Photoshop- for the painting
Camstudio- for the screen recording
FRAPS- for in-world recording
Sony Vegas- for post processing
Soundtrack- Fiona Apple: Slow Like Honey

A big thank you goes to Abu Nasu and his TechSlop wiki... hopefully this demonstrates just how much I rely on his Photoshop goodies to pull off this level of detail.:)

  • Awesome video! Where do you get the flat skin colored avatar template that you use to fit the clothing?

  • @njrichardson01 It's a nifty little "fake bake" with a skin coloured overlay. I have an older entry on my blog about how it was made. A link to my blog is included at the bottom of the video description. Hope that helps!

  • Hi, i just started making clothes(2days ago) using gimp. Where can I find a template like this- one that is the front and back in one piece?

  • @Melissa341 There is a video response showing the Multi Chan Hax above. You can see further details on how to use it within GIMP on my wordpress blog. Good luck!

  • A link to the tech-slop MCH filter is now included in the information to the side. :) Have fun!
