This Video is probably my first video of actual Modern Day Main Line Running which I have uploaded to this account (others have been uploaded to UKRailSpotters).

On a day out to Stamford, we decided to take the train, as always, from elton Mowbray Station. My aim of the day was to film a good train roar through one of the stations as one did last time we went but the only two we saw during the day passed us on the train there and back.

So, after failing to capture 170 522 at Melton Station, we catch another Class 170 Turbostar (which mainly occupy this route) No.170 636 to Stamford via Oakham. We pause at Oakham Station and the famous Signal Box and Level Crossing are visible in the film as we leave Oakham behind us. The Signal Box and Level Crossing was modelled by Hornby in their original and iconic 'Oakham Signal Box & Level Crossing'.

We now enter Stamford Station and watch No.170 636 disappear through the tunnels under Stamford Town. We have a panoramic view of Stamford Station before the arrival and departure of another Class 170 Turbostar No. 170 116. We now had a walk around Stamford, having lunch at the Lord Burghley and visiting the famous 'Robert Humm & Co.' Railway Bookshop which is situated in the Station Buildings on Platform 1.

After spending all my money on a book, we see 170 111 arrive and depart from Platform 1 whilst our old friend 170 636 arrives on Platform 2 which we caught back to Melton Mowbray. 170 636 had actually been to Stanstead Airport and back by the time we see it return. Back at Melton after we say goodbye to 170 636 (which doesn't feature in this video) we see 170 522 again arrive and cherily depart for Stanstead Airport via Oakham and Stamford. 170 522 has been to Birminghan New St and back by the time we see it here.
