@sicofphoneys More then likely the law isn't enforced as it would take a lot of the officers away from real crime. As long as the stores don't sell to teens until they become of age, at least that is a start. I remember as a pre-teen, I would walk to the store to get my mother cigarettes. Back in the day they had no issue with it but now a day they have issues. When you STOP someone from trying to get something, they find a way to get what they want.
Thanks Sierra. I'm in Utah and you have to be 18-one of the few states that have an age limit, I think. (I don't know how much it is enforced though-I don't think much at all).
@sicofphoneys I don't know of a law in the state of Florida that prohibts teenagers from smoking. However, Florida, prohibits anyone from providing any tobacco to anyone under the age of 18. Florida Statutes 569.101 states that it is a crime for anyone to sell, deliver, trade, provide or give tobacco products to underage people. The crime is considered a second degree misdemeanor, punishable by up to 60 days in jail and a $500 fine.
So if Ron buys Misty smokes he could have gone to jail.

I just thought of something-Why is a 17 year old able to smoke in front of police. Isn't that illegal? It is in our state.
