This time Red tells about one of his radio listeners who sent in 'Demo' tapes. Jimmy Drake, aka 'Nervous Norvus' became a regular fixture on the show, and collaborated on several hit records on the Dot label.

Thanks for sharing all that information about Nervous Norvus. "Transfusion" got a fair amount of radio play and was a big novelty hit in NY when I was growing up. "Pass the juice to me Bruce." I loved it.
Hi, Red, Thanks for the information on Nervous Norvus and his wild recordings - with your outstanding ape calls - absolutely made Ape Call the hit that it was. I listened to your show from SF, and actually went to one of your shows in about 1954 with some friends, one of whom was interviewed by you on the air; he was wearing a gorilla mask which helped. I never missed an episode of "The Flat Man" and his nickel-plated sword cane, cruising the Rue de la Howard St.
Fantastic stuff! Well done Red! If only ol' Nervous was still with us...

I'm so glad Red was able to make this recording as a final tribute to Nervous Norvus, and of course, to himself as well.
