In this episode of 'Another Walk with Mike' our legs stumble upon a Georgia Gem that will purely amaze. I promise. You'll see canyon walls painted with bright brushstrokes. Shapes and figures and spirits carved into the Earth itself. You'll see remnants from an old homestead and a church with its canyon inhabitants. And you'll see Heaven.

You will see a sight that few know exists. It is Providence Canyon State Park and it stands as an example of Nature's beauty. My most recent film, 'The Gulf Is Alive', captured the vibrance of the Sea and what lives within its soul. This film, 'Providence Canyon State Park: The Walls of Heaven', presents to your eyes and to your soul a majestic masterpiece carved amongst the Georgia landscape.

I believe it will be a pleasant surprise for you to witness. It sure surprised me. In taking a trip to Atlanta from my costal Florida home, I decided to search for a piece of adventure. I found it. As with all of my journeys, I hope to find salient, soulful sights. One was certainly found here. And as with all of my findings, I hope that you witnessing my film will serve as a means to preserve the natural wonder I've captured. I hope my film will inspire within you a further appreciation for the little pieces of Heaven we have here on Earth.

Enjoy!

  • Mike, you remind me of a transcendentalist; a person who is one with nature, but most importantly, you remind me of a colorful, flaming butterfly fluttering in the night air with your gay aurora trailing behind.

  • @cyberskwerl It's nice to lose yourself in something, and something so beautiful. I was lucky to come across it. I wish I could find a person as beautiful.

  • Mike, you have done a great video on a place dear to my heart.. I live in Columbus only and hour or so away from the canyon and I have hiked the 3 mile trail more times than I can remember it was the first place I ever hiked in my life as an adult I thank you for doing the canyon proud with this and showing how beautiful it is.

  • @MrBarefootdriver Thank you for your kind words. I was fortunate to come across this outstanding gem and marveled at its treasures. I definately want to return and hope to take my kids one day or introduce the world among worlds to someone else very special. It's nice to hear from someone who knows the area so intimately.

  • Can not wait to go and visit the canyon. Have wanted to go for 15 years. Be there in March. White Blaze will give a report.

  • It can be enjoyed from up top, below in the canyon or both. I actually can go next week but I have additinal people with me and we're not all 'nature' people. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Good luck.

  • I worked here back in the mid seventies, does Pat Paterson still manage it? Its an Awesome place thanks for posting...

  • Thanks for taking time out to let me know. I want to get back there soon and explore further and deeper. I jumped a number of deer there but as you can imagine, the deer are long gone before the digital camera gets turned on.

  • Thanks so much. What a find it was for me. I was mesmerized and wish I could have investigated the valley floor even more. But it was a place where I felt alive. The weather was great and scenery captivating.
