When I was at the DBSA 2010 NATIONAL CONFERENCE I got to try for the first time in my life, STAND-UP. Here I am in Chicago "celebrating" the Depression Bipolar Support Alliance's 25th year of peer support, and doing STAND-UP comedy to a crowd of 400 people!!!.
I want to thank David Granirer from Stand-Up for Mental Health for giving me a chance to bomb. I had 24 hours to write a set of jokes about living with mental health. All the other students had a three month course that Dave does with them to work out their jokes. I hope to be taking that class, I sent in my application.
I kind of did it backwards. I hope I can raise enough money to go to the DBSA 2011 NATIONAL CONFERENCE in Texas... I'm hopeing they let me do this year's DBSA comedy show at the conference so I have to crash the rehearsal and beg for a few minuets to do a set. I will beg if I have too.
Well, here is my act... let me know what you think... but don't be to harsh, it was my 1st you know.

Dave's motto:
"Most people think you have to be nuts to do stand-up comedy. We offer it as a form of therapy! Stand Up For Mental Health teaches Stand Up Comedy to people with mental illness as a way of building confidence and fighting public stigma, prejudice, and discrimination."
