Absolutely it's a real place! As is the Goonies house, the jail, the bowling alley, museum and of course Haystack Rock and Ecola Park (where the restaurant was built).

I love The Goonies! I even drove 2000 miles to Astoria OR to see where it was filmed. Did you know the end of The Goones was filmed at Goat Rock Beach here in N Cali where Im from? Im not kidding check it out on the net.

Yeah, gee where did all this 2007 energy go? Is Richard Donner doing okay? I got the impression he was into the sequel idea. And Brolin's claim that Meryl Streep would replace Anne Ramsey is quite interesting. With all the junk being made, it's a pretty safe gamble that people will go to a Goonies sequel.
