I believe it was Bertrand Russell who first proposed the idea of orbiting teapots... it's nice to finally see some solid evidence! :)

Of course it is "fake". It is a 3d computer animation of a digitally generated Earth model. The teapots are stand-in objects to demonstrate, that this earth is not just backdrop footage, but a fully immersive 360° environment and hence also visible in reflections
