Yes, for the price, it is I think the best quality microphone, especially for distance. The side and back sound is not quite as limited as, say the Rode Videomic, but depending on the size of your camera, it may fit better. For me, I have the Canon HV30, and for my camera it is the best mic. If you have a bigger camera, you may want a bigger mic. But overall, absolutely, I love it.
It also has its own battery source so it doesnt drain your battery pack.
