@TreeBeyondTheHeart You've probably already got it but I'll answer anyways. Press the "AF-DRIVE" button located right-upper part of the camera. After that roll the disc where your thumb is (while holding the camera normally) untill you see a picture of a clock in the down right corner of the small screen. If there is a number "2" under the clock, it means it waits 2 seconds before taking the shot, if it's only a pic of the clock, it waits 10 seconds before taking the shot.

How can I get my Canon to shoot by itself?
I would like to be on the photo once in a while. Can any of you guys help me?

what if you use iso 400 plus image stabilisation how little vibration would there become?

Nope, it's a wired remote. you should be able to find it on canon's website, if not bhphotovideo . com is a great site with lots of accesories (from lenses, cases, filters, lamps and more)
