Sorry, but the group of congested kids whining this song was just too much for me to take then, and now. This was a great show, and thank god the annoying singing brats only lasted one season.
Part 2 of previous comment. She said the writers wanted him gone because the formula called for more of her as a comedienne and not a housewife. Somehow the viewing audience of the time could not reconcile a funny wife as a TV character.
I thought this inside comment from Valerie Harper was illuminating and I was sure glad to get it first hand---from the woman who played one of my all time favorite characters. Go see Looped
I loved the character and the show Rhoda. She was funny and sensitive vulnerable all at once. That is a testament to the great acting of Valerie Harper.
Today I had the pleasure of seeing Ms Harper perform in the pre-broadway (I hope anyway) play called Looped. After the matinee, she held a Q+A at which time I told her how much I enjoyed the character Rhoda and how it had made me sad when Joe divorced her. She replied that it made Joe even sadder, He didnt want to leave the show
This was my favorite version of the Rhoda theme song.

@thepetershowUSA She's one of my all time favorites too. I love her so much, ever since I was a wee child.

Is it just me, or do the kids singing "La,La,La,La", sound like they should be singing "Sing A Song" (Carpenter's Version)???
