@BendersBreakfast - Yes, someone "famous" is speaking out about it, even though they don't PERSONALLY have epilepsy. It's still a huge part of her life, and she's helping bring light to it. I'd think that's a good thing, and since you get so offended about it you ARE acting like you deserve some special treatment in spite of claiming you're no different than anyone else. Well if that's the case, then relax about a non-epileptic actually doing a good thing with bringing light to epilepsy. Geeze.

Am I the only one that finds this offensive? I have epilepsy and to have someone who doesn't have epilepsy representing the epileptic community leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Epileptics should be talking about epilepsy, not some famous singer who's known someone with epilepsy. Sure it's hard, and sure people are stupid, but pity is the last thing I want. I'm not ashamed to have epilepsy, and if someone asks I say "Yeah, and that makes me no different than you, so shut up."

She is the only 'famous' person who has such a great foundation I have epilepsy and have seizures everyday and Amy is right if you don't tell people they will be afraid of you so be bubbly and talk about seizures. This way people will see YOU.
