This is ok.. that's all. this is nothing earth shattering, or wonderful, the trills need to be crisper, and the phrasing is strange as is the diction ( and she is an italian).

@Drelnis I agree. BUT,the scene in which Scotto is absolutely without rivals in the modern history of Lucia is the duet in Act 2 with her brother. Nobody, not even Callas (with all respect & great love) sang "Soffriva nel pianto.." as
heart-wrenchingly as Scotto in her prime.The performances I heard as a kid with her, Sereni and Konya were miraculous. Vocally, Sutherland was (and still is) untouchable, but somehow "La piccola Renata" (as we called her) was always my favorite.

O never knew she could sing that fast ! She probably had the best pianissimo i have ever heard in a Soprano SHe is good here

No singer ever had a more beautiful vocal tone than Scotto in her prime. And this shows her at her best.

its hard to believe you are a musical director of an opera house in Italy seeing as Ms Scotto is an iconic Italian soprano and sang at the most prestigious opera houses there throughout her career. If you cannot see the beauty in the rendition of this aria I feel sorry for anyone who goes to you opera house, if it exists

I love his rendition of quanto rapito in estasi.. Renata has perfect control of the coloratura and is singing very well... She has this thig though, on the last note, but the last high notes are important, but aren't everthing! Brava Scotto!

I am glad people are enjoying this performance, I think it's one of the best Lucia cabaletta ever recorded live :)
