a BBC article says it was 16h00 BST, that means British Summer Time, right ? Estofex has it listed at 16h00 UTC, which is 17h BST. So what time was it really ?

what precise time was it ? Local time please, and were you still in summer daylight time or already in winter standard time in the UK ? I saw a tornadic waterspout same day in Italy. Maybe we filmed those at precisely the same moment, which might be a world historic first. I guess tornadoes may happen in different countries on same day quite often but to have them at the same minute AND both of the documented makes it a rare day. My Cinque Terre italy tornado was 3.33 PM local, 13.33 UTC

well done to the amazing american! please people stand and give this person a standing ovation. way to go you guys have more powerful tornados that kill and destroy lives. nice one. and here is this person moaning at us for enjoying one that isn't strong enough to do anything bad.
and as several people have already stated......IT IS RARE IN ENGLAND! god damn it people if you are going to leave a stupid comment atleast read the others correctly.

@ niselat what do you want a medal ? As someone has already said we very rarely get any thing like this in England so yer is a big deal to us

Nice to see that somebody local has uploaded some footage of it! I was in a shop in Queens Road when I heard about it. We all rushed out to look at it - until our view was obscured by the shopping centre :( I think weather experts said it was a water-spout rather than a tornado. Cool though, and not something we see every day!
yes it was 'about' 4pm in the uk (16:00 BST)
the same as 8 am (08:00 PDT) north america
UTC is a bit confusing as I believe during the summer the UK is one hour ahead of UTC but then we change our clocks an hour and match up after the summertime. So on that date it was 15:00 UTC or 16:00 BST both the same.

in answer to a comment earlier, this may not seem much to some, but this doesn't happen on the South coast of England so it is quite an event to us
