Hi Susan, I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate the videos you made. I am going in for surgery soon and they are helpful.

    Best,

    Sue

The surgery center at the hospital gave me a ''shirt'' that was handmade for the cancer patients and had 4 pockets in the front for drains. The volunteers sew them for the patients. The shirt has no sides to it. Just a front and back.

Home Depot nail apron (costs $2) can hold all 4 Jackson Pratt drains in the 2 wide pockets...just tie the apron around your waist or your neck if showering....

Got this hint from my doctor's office!

Had a bilateral mastectomy a few weeks ago. In order to shower, I clipped my drainage bulbs onto a thin plastic belt I had at home.

Wish I had watched before coming home from the hosp. Other helpful hints for showering or walking around: ace bandage, athletic tape, or cut off top of pantyhose will hold/camouflage the drains around your stomach area or thigh, whichever is more comfortable. Scrubs with pockets worked also.
